- General terms and conditions
1.1 Snakehandler reserve the right to cancel an event or booking in the case of inappropriate venue, extreme weather or inappropriate behaviour of members of the public or training group.
1.2 Cancelations of event bookings within 14 days prior to the event date, will incur a booking fee of 50% of the total value of the event (including travel related expenses).
1.3 An administration fee of 15% will be charged for all cancelled events if notified in writing greater than 14 days prior to the event date. (including travel expenses)
1.4 Refunds will not be given for venomous snake handling courses cancelations, we will offer a transfer to a later date if 14 days notice is given.
1.5 If you do not attend a course without prior notice your position on the course will be forfeit and you will need to re-book at a later date at full fee cost.
2. Courses
2.1 Correct PPE must be worn for all venomous snake handling training, failure to wear appropriate PPE (long loose fitting pants, long sleeve shirt and leather fully enclosed shoes) may result in your withdrawal from the training
2.2 A mark of Not Yet Competent (NYC) is not a fail mark, you will be advised as to your next steps, typically this is rebooking a practical handling session at no cost to you and must be completed within 6 months of the original course
2.3 No refunds are offered for courses, this is classified as a change of mind, please ensure you select the correct date and venue for your training, we are willing to transfer people to another date at the same venue, if a different venue is required and there is an increase in fees, you will be invoiced for the difference.
2.4 If you do not attend a course without prior notice your position on the course will be forfeit and you will need to re-book at a later date at full fee cost.
2.5 A person can only transfer a course to an equal or lower value course, this can only be done once with at least 14 days notification in writing.
2.6 Snakehandler reserve the right to refuse to conduct training with any person or group at any time if the staff believe the actions of the individual or group compromise the safety of staff, participants or the animals
2.7 When completing online theory, the practical component must be completed within 6 months of the enrolment date for the online theory unless by prior arrangement with Snakehandler Pty Ltd.
2.8 Online Reptile awareness training is valid for 12 months only.
2.9 Certificates are issued at the discretion of Lifeaid (our auspicing body/RTO)
2.10 Certificates issued by Lifeaid are only valid for 12 months
2.11 Refresher training may only be requested if the full course has been completed within the past 3 years unless refresher training has been completed annually since completion of the full course.
2.12 Completion of any training with Snakehandler does not permit interaction with wildlife, this must only be done when the person holds the appropriate permit as issued by the relevant State or Territory wildlife authority
2.13 Snakehandler Pty Ltd provide training to create exposure to a variety of reptiles and handling technique’s, it is not a guarantee of safety and each individual is responsible for their own actions
2.14 Attendance to a snake handling courses assumes an acceptance of risk, a waiver must be signed prior to being accepted into the practical handling course. For people under 18 a parent or guardian must sign the waiver.
2.15 Snakehandler reserve the right to cancel a course at any time, including during the course, to ensure staff can return to their home state should a border restriction be put into place, at no penalty to Snakehandler
2.16 Courses may be postponed due to Government restrictions, these are beyond the control of Snakehandler, we will endeavor to meet your training needs by offering a postponed training date only, no refunds are possible for courses canceled due to Government actions.
2.17 Snakehandler will only provide safety documentation once a course is confirmed by issue of a Purchase Order.
3. Equipment Sales
3.1 Website sales will be dispatched within 72hrs where possible via Australia Post or Sendle courier unless otherwise notified, some items are sent via courier as they are oversized (greater than 105cm)
3.2 Unless otherwise arranged, payment must be made within 7 days from date of invoice. Snakehandler reserve the right to charge a service fee of $50 for every 14 day period that an invoice is overdue.
3.3 Equipment will only be sent once full payment is received, we do not offer a credit for any purchases
3.4 Requests for payment outside of invoice terms will not be accepted and equipment will only be sent on receipt full payment of invoice
3.5 Any items purchased on Purchase Order will be sent once full payment of the items including any postage and handling fees is paid.
4. Shipping
4.1 We can ship to virtually any address in the Australia. Note that there are restrictions on some products, and some products cannot be shipped to international destinations. Some items may require fixed price shipping to some locations.
4.2 All orders are free shipping, if you wish for express post you will need to pay a further $15
4.3 Shipping time is typical 2-7 days depending on location
4.4 Shipping will only be done once full payment is received unless by prior arrangement.
4.5 Shipping via courier companies is available and a $25 handling fee is charged
4.6 Shipping may be delayed if there are outstanding Invoices under a Company name (not site specific)
4.7 Shipping time varies with location (these times are from the date of dispatch and via Australia Post)
Express Post:
Most capital cities 1-3 business days
Other areas up to 7 days
Standard Post:
Most capital cities 2-14 days
Other areas 5-21 days
Courier:
3-15 days depending on location
5. Payment
5.1 Payment of all Snakehandler online purchases must be made at the time of purchase unless paying by direct deposit
5.2 Payment by Direct Deposit must be received into the Snakehandler Westpac Bank account prior to equipment or confirmation being sent.
5.3 Assessment and Enrolment forms for training will only be sent to our RTO Lifeaid only once full payment has been received, including any overdue fees, certificates may only be printed once full payment is made
5.4 All invoices are subject to 7 day payment terms
5.5 Requests for payments outside of 7 days will incur a 10% surcharge
5.6 Any overdue invoice that remains unpaid may be handed over to a Debt Collection Agency, you will be responsible for all associated costs of Debt Recovery in addition to the Invoiced amount.
6. Warranty Claims
6.1 All items stocked and sold by Snakehandler are covered under the Manufactures warranty for the product.
6.2 Typically speaking for all snake handling tools (excluding snake bags) this is 12 months from date of purchase.
6.3 For warranty claims you will need to provide a copy of your receipt or order number, photos of the problem, details of usage of the item and returning the item at the purchasers expense. The goods will be examined and appropriate measures will be taken to rectify the problem, this may take 7-21 days from date of receipt of returned items.
7. Returns Policy
7.1 If you need to return an item, please Contact Us with your order number and details about the product you would like to return.
7.2 We will respond with 72 hours with instructions for how to return items from your order.
7.3 Please note we do not offer returns for items that are purchased and then there is a change of mind or the wrong product is ordered or excess stock is ordered.
7.4 We will offer a store credit if you return the goods (unused) within 14 days of receipt of goods.
7.5 Any goods returned must be done within 14 days of receipt of goods at the purchasers expense.
7.6 We will replace damaged items where fault is either the manufacturer or Snakehandler, we will not replace goods damaged by postage or courier, you should take out insurance on items purchased.
7.6 If the item is not the correct size or incorrect product selection we will accept the goods returned in good order and give a store credit to the value of the goods only within 14 days of purchase. The purchaser will be invoiced for any additional charges such as postage or a more expensive item
8. Gift Certificates/vouchers
8.1 Gift vouchers/certificates may be purchased from the Snakehandler website for any nominated amount between $100 AUD and $1000 AUD
8.2 Gift vouchers/certificates may not be exchanged for money or credit
8.3 Gift vouchers/certificates must be used within 3 years as per Consumer Affairs Victoria (2019)
8.4 Gift vouchers/certificates may be used for any Snakehandler Store products and services.
